The shutter blades and the aperture leaves have been cleaned and put back to the shutter and they are now working fine.

Canon Canonet QL17
I found a real junky looking Canon Canonet QL 17.
It has damaged top cover with meter not working, and shutter not running condition. I am going to try and restore this camera.
The camera seemed to have been dropped and landed on the top cover, destroying the accessory shoe, view finder glass, and shutter release button. I will find another parts camera and replace the top cover.
The meter problem was the meter display needle connected to the meter needle was pushed down from the impact. By bending it back fixed the meter movement.
When I opened the bottom cover, I saw a very deep battery holder to use no longer available 1.3v battery that I have never seen before. I thought QL17 used the same battery holder as OL19 that I worked on before. I have to figure out what to do about it after I work on the shutter.
Canon QL17 ( not smaller GIII model) uses Copal SV shutter. It is almost the same shutter that is used on the Konica Auto S2. The back side is different but looks similar to Konica Auto S than Auto S2.
Since, the shutter blades are not opening, I decided to do take them apart to do complete cleaning.
Here you see the shutter blades, and shutter control ring out from the shutter for cleaning. I only found three smaller shutter blades. I found 6 blades. Where is the extra blade come from? I am not sure if this camera had been worked on before. I am going to put the blades back like the way they are used on Konica Auto S2.
Tomorrow, I am going to try to make the shutter working again. The parts camera should be arriving next week.
